"there's always gonna be another mountain
i'm always gonna have to make it move
always gonna be an uphill battle
sometimes i'm gonna have to lose
ain't about how fast i get there
ain't about what's waiting on the other side
it's the climb
the struggles i'm facing
the chances i'm taking
sometimes might knock me down
but no i'm not breaking.."
-miley cyrus, the climb
Life doesn't have a dress rehearsal. You only have one chance to live your best life...the life you've always dreamed of. If you hit a few speed bumps on the way, don't panic. Make the best out of every situation...even if you feel like it's an impossible task.
When I was diagnosed with cancer almost 4 years ago, I was completely blind sided and shocked. Little did I know that my whole entire life was about to change. My plans to graduate from college and begin my Nursing career were put on hold. Instead of feeling sorry for myself I made a decision to not let cancer define me.
I try my hardest to live a "normal" life, although to most people it's nowhere near normal. I'm a fighter and I believe in my heart and soul that my life isn't over...and I shouldn't live my life as if it were. I try to make the best out of each day and take advantage of the good days (or sometimes hours). Of course I have bad days, too...but I see life in a different light. I feel like cancer has taught me to see the more important things in life...and for this, I am truly grateful.
Cancer has not, and will never break me. These struggles might knock me down, but I'll get back up and be stronger than ever =)
